On May 8, 2008 the 10th Circuit
Court dismissed the appeal
litigation for the 11400 South and
10400 South projects. Both
projects are moving ahead with final
design and construction.
UDOT will
release a Request for
Qualifications (RFQ) in order to procure
a design build team for 11400 South
Project. The RFQ will be
distributed to potential
contractors in late June or early July. Contractor selection
is anticipated by the end of the
year. Construction could begin as
early as late 2008 with a completion
date of late 2010.

Proposed
Improvements
Initial
improvements to the 11400 South Corridor
encompass the area between State Street
and Bangerter Highway.
The 11400
South construction project includes the
following:

Construction
of a new interchange on I-15 at
11400 South with an auxiliary lane
on I-15 northbound at I-15
southbound between 11400 South and
10600 South
-
Widening
of 11400 South to five lanes (four
traffic lanes with a center median)
with shoulders, curb and gutter, and
sidewalks
-
Bike
lanes throughout the corridor
-
Construction
of traffic and pedestrian structures
across the Jordan River and
improvements to the Jordan River
Parkway Trail
-
Widening
and improvements at my intersections
with dedicated right and/or
left-turn lanes and upgraded traffic
signals
-
Raised
medians at several locations along
the corridor to control access, and
improve safety and traffic flow
In
addition, UTA will upgrade the Union
Pacific Railroad crossing at 11400 South
and 500 West to a grade-separated
crossing that will accommodate both
freight and future Front Runner
