Q: What is the construction schedule for SR-68; I-215 to Center Street?

A: Construction will begin as early as Thursday, February 22, 2018.  Crews will work around the clock through late Fall, 2018.  


Q: What will delays be like during construction?

A: Construction will take place in a traditionally very congested area.  This project will allevaite congestion once complete.  During construction, motorists will experience narrowed travel lanes, shifting lanes, and dynamic lane  configurations.  Drivers should expect severe delays while construction is underway.

Q: What work is being done at the Interchange?

A: Crews will implement a new interchange configuration called a Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI). A new bridge structure will be constructed east of the existing bridge over I-215. Addionally, Redwood Road will be widened between I-215 and Center Street to accommodate a five-lane roadway section (two lanes each direction with a center turn lane). The project also includes pavement rehabilitation on I-215 (two inside lanes, both north- and southbound), and a pavement rehabilitation on Redwood Road from the Salt Lake County line north to 500 South.
