Project Overview
Southwestern Utah is rapidly becoming not only a popular tourist destination, but a desirable place to live, which is reflected in the area's expanding population. Because of this area's fast population growth and its accompanying travel demand, many key roadway corridors throughout Washington County and interchanges on I-15 are becoming increasingly congested. One of these interchanges in particular is the Bluff Street interchange at mile post 6 in St. George. In an effort to address these traffic issues, the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT), in cooperation with the City of St. George, propose to construct a new interchange on I-15 at approximately Mile Post 5 in St. George, Utah. The Dixie Drive Interchange would be formed by realigning Dixie Dr. along the north side of the Southgate Golf Course to connect to I-15 at the south end of the Dixie Center. The new interchange would be connected to the Bluff Street Interchange through a system of one-way collector/distributor roads.
Project Location
The project area is located in the City of St. George, Washington County, Utah, and includes the I-15 corridor between the Bluff Street Interchange and the Virgin River crossing.
