| The project's second public meeting was held on November 28, 2007 at Vineyard Elementary School to gather input on newly developed alternatives. Over 135 people attended the meeting. For more information about Public Meeting #2 click here. |
| Project Background: |
| The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), in cooperation with the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT), has initiated an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS), Geneva Road (SR-114) between I-15 at Center Street in Provo and State Street (US-89) in Pleasant Grove. UDOT conducted an Environmental Assessment in 2001 for the Geneva Road Corridor. However, due to possible impacts to historic structures along the corridor, it was determined that additional analysis was required and an EIS was needed. The project was put on-hold until additional funding was available to start the EIS. |
Project Purpose: |
| The purpose of this project is to meet current and future traffic demands in this portion of Utah County. Alternatives will be created to meet the traffic needs and may include a no-action alternative, various Geneva Road widening alternatives, and off-corridor alternatives between Geneva Road and Utah Lake and between Geneva Road and I-15. The project team will conduct an in-depth analysis of each alternative and their potential impacts to determine a preferred alternative for the Geneva Road corridor. |
| Project Study Area: |
| The study area includes Geneva Road from Provo Center Street to State Street in Pleasant Grove and a section of Provo Center Street between Geneva Road and I-15 (which is also a part of State Route 114). The project study area lies within Provo City, Orem City, Vineyard Town, Pleasant Grove City, Lindon City, and unincorporated Utah County. |
