Hilton Drive to the new Dixie Drive Traffic Switch...
Motorist are enjoying the new signalized intersection at Black Ridge Drive and Hilton Drive. This traffic pattern will be in place for the next few months.
East and West bound traffic from the bridge over the Santa Clara River on existing Dixie Drive is now merged onto the new Dixie Drive.
Hilton Drive is closed from the intersection at Indian Hills to the intersection at Black Ridge Drive with business access only.
Southbound traffic on Indian Hills can make a left-hand turn and travel East but cannot make a right-hand turn.
Speed limits in the area are reduced and motorists are urged to obey all posted warnings and signs.
TRAIL OPENING...
The Confluence Park Trailhead and restrooms are opened. Patrons to the park are asked to respect their new facilities and enjoy this great addition to St. George.
TRAFFIC SHIFT...
*Construction on the new northbound, Bluff Street Off-ramp is finished. A new three-lane configuration will open in mid-February. Crews continue to build the new Southbound, Bluff Street On-ramp to I-15. This work will be finished in the Spring.
*The traffic pattern on the Bluff Street Northbound on-ramp to I-15 will remain in its current configuration for several months.
*Dixie Center Traffic exiting from I-15 Northbound onto the Bluff Street off-ramp should stay in the right-hand lane for more convenient access to Convention Center Drive.
TRAILS...
*The Confluence Park Trailhead is open. The bridge connecting the Virgin River Trail to the Webb Hill Trail is open. City crews are working on the following closures: The trail between the Doctor's Free Clinic and River Road; approximately 1 mile East of River Road; The Santa Clara River Trail between Tonaquint Park and Backyard Gardener and South Bloomington/Sunriver Trail between Bloomington Park and Las Colinas Subdivision. Repairs will be finished by Fall.
*The Hilton Drive Trail is closed.
ROAD CONSTRUCTION...
*Roadway staff is excavating and grading the new hook ramp connecting the new Dixie Drive to Hilton Drive. This work will be finished in February, and will be paved as part of the third phase of paving in March.
*Concrete Crash Cushion Pads were poured this week. The Crash Cushions will be set on Tuesday and Wednesday.
*Crews have begun to patch various Parapet Walls throughout the project. This work will continue for the next 3 weeks.
*Parapet Wall Transition modifications on the Dixie Drive Interchange will be poured on Wednesday
.*Dirt crews finished the final grading of the Santa Clara River slopes throughout the project. Where necessary Rip Rap rock was placed to increase stabilization of the bank.
*Sign contractors continue to form sign base foundations. Installation of various signs and bases will continue for the next few weeks throughout the project.
*Lighting crews continue to install signal arms on new poles around the project. New signals will be hung at the intersections over the next two weeks.
*Roadway crews have milled and recycled asphalt at the intersection of Indian Hills and Hilton Drive. Excavation staff continue to remove and replace utilities in the area.
*A new shotcrete wall under the Bluff Street Interchange on the West side of southbound traffic is finished.
*During the construction of the new interchange conservation measures are being taken to save as much existing vegetation and trees as possible.
SAFETY...
*Crews working on The Dixie Drive Interchange Project have scored a perfect 100% on the safety inspection for January. Over the course of the project crews have scored eight perfect scores and have an average of 98.8%. Congratulations to everyone working on the project and their commitment to creating a safe work environment.
*All WCC employees, sub-contractors, truck drivers and anyone on-sight must comply with all safety requirements at all times.
GOLF COURSE...
*Construction at The Southgate Golf Course is completed.
