Project Overview

The Utah Department of Transportation (UDO) is continuing its efforts to improve northbound I-15 in Salt Lake County by extending the existing collector-distributor (C-D) system from 9000 South in Sandy to Bangerter Highway in Draper. This project will improve safety and regional mobility and reduce congestion for drivers on northbound I-15. Construction is anticipated to begin in 2026.

What is a Collector-Distributor System?

C-D systems parallel the freeway and connect to more than one on-and-off ramp. The system reduces congestion by allowing mainline traffic to bypass vehicles entering and exiting the freeway.
