Bet you thought all traffic signals just worked on their own didn't you? Well the human monitors at our Traffic Operations Center can actually control the timing of over 600 traffic signals around the Salt Lake Valley. This way we can keep certain lights green longer if there is a lot of traffic in the area and we need to get a lot of cars through. It helps keep traffic moving which actually helps drivers use less gas. Never thought of that, did you?

Cameras

We're watching! With the help of over 200 cameras mounted along the Salt Lake Valley's major roads (I-15, I-215, I-80) we can get a real-time look at what's going on out there and what's causing any problems. We can even make sure to get emergency response teams like ambulances out to accident scenes in the quickest time possible.

Signs
