Rest Area Program

The mission of the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) is "Quality Transportation Today, Better Transportation Tomorrow. We Connect Communities."

Accordingly, UDOT presents this Statewide Rest Area Plan in support of its mission statement and continual efforts to provide a safe and efficient transportation system for the public. The strength of UDOT depends on the strength of its program. Rest areas, welcome centers and view areas are important elements of that program. These facilities play an important role in relation to highway safety, primarily combating driver fatigue.
