Project Location:
10400 South between Bangerter Highway and Redwood Road.
Construction Updates:
- Reminder - Due to the progressive nature of construction, please be aware that roadway access and improvements change daily. Before turning off any road, please be attentive and observe construction measures, wires, ramp alterations and other roadway changes around you.
- The new median curb is finished. Please be aware of the new traffic switch on the north and south sides of the road. With the new median curb, please expect many new left-turn restrictions, especially near the high school. Please be alert and attentive, as traffic is continually changing due to the new median curb installation.
- Striping for the roadway has begun. Permanent striping will occur on north side of the corridor this week, and grooving and temporary striping will take place on the south side. (Note: This striping process requires placement of temporary striping first, in order to mark a pattern for grooving to follow. Permanent striping is finally placed inside the grooving work after the first two steps are completed.)
- Sidewalk pouring will be continuous throughout the project this week. The construction team will communicate with each individual homeowner about coordinating sidewalk pours with their driveways and drive approaches. Landscaping has also started and will continue to be installed on the south side, throughout the corridor.
- Expect slight delays and be attentive; flagging operations are being used to accommodate pedestrians and construction activities along the roadway.
- Residents along the roadway should place their cans out in the normal location on regular collection days. If your garbage isn't collected because of construction, please notify the project team (10400south@horrocks.com or 1-888-311-0115)
- If you are not receiving regular mail service due to construction, please notify the project team for assistance (10400south@horrocks.com or 1-888-311-0115)
Pedestrian and Traffic Impacts:
- A designated pedestrian walkway has been established from Redwood Road to Bangerter Highway on the south side of the new concrete between the curb and gutter and the cones/roadway markers. Please proceed with caution and use alternate routes as directed. Do not walk through the construction zone and avoid walking along 10400 South when possible.
- The 25 mile per hour speed limit remains in effect from Bangerter Highway to Redwood Road. Please adhere to the reduced speed limit for your safety and the safety of work crews. Law enforcement continues to monitor the corridor for all types of traffic violations. Please notify student drivers.
- Please be aware of trucks and heavy equipment entering the roadway.
Project Schedule:
Substantial completion of the roadway is anticipated by late fall 2009.
