Utah's Transportation ARRA Projects
Utah has received $213 million to be used on both state and local transportation projects, as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, the federal government's economic stimulus plan. The federal funds will be used on 104 pavement preservation, bridge rehabilitation and capacity improvement projects statewide that would not have been completed without the stimulus funding.
The goal is to spread the projects throughout all four corners of the state, rapidly use the funds to provide jobs throughout local communities and repair and replace roads and bridges in critical need.
UDOT staff is working quickly to prepare each federal stimulus project for construction. The process of advancing both site and local ARRA projects is designed to ensure all federal funds are invested rapidly in local economies. The following tracks Utah's transportation stimulus progress. The project percentages are as of April 26, 2010.
