Planning for projects begins many years before any construction and public input is important to UDOT, especially in these early stages. Once construction begins it is often to late for any changes to be made. A project begins as a need is recognized and included in the Long Range Plan. From there funding must be obtained, a study completed and the project designed before actual construction begins. While construction is the most noticeable and impactful to our daily lives it is important to be involved in the early planning, study and designing processes.
