Motor Carrier Contacts
The Utah Ports of Entry (POE) are under the direction of the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT), Motor Carrier Division.
Mission and Goals
Our mission as a division is to preserve the state's highway infrastructure, protect the traveling public, and to promote the advancement of the motor carrier industry.
This will be accomplished through an effective and progressive safety inspection and education program provided to commercial vehicle drivers and motor carrier companies.
Our goals are to eliminate all commercial vehicle accidents on state highways and to obtain voluntary compliance from the commercial vehicle industry. To achieve these goals we will effectively regulate and inspect commercial vehicles and review companies safety programs. Outreach training programs will educate industry owners, safety managers, vehicle drivers and vehicle maintenance personnel in proper safety policies, procedures and practices. By dealing fairly with our customers we serve all drivers on Utah's highways.
We currently have eight permanent Ports of Entry. For more information on Port of Entry locations please select from the list below.
All commercial motor vehicles are required to stop at Ports of Entry. Permits can be purchased at all Ports of Entry. Carriers are required to have insurance on file with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA).
