TRANSIT INFORMATION
Public transit plays an important role in the potential Mountain View Corridor (MVC) transportation solutions. A multi-modal approach to the project, including roadways and transit, is vital for providing travel choices in the future and for helping meet transportation demand.
As detailed in the "Screening Report", a high-capacity transit line on 5600 West is a component of the Salt Lake County alternatives. This is also the preferred transit alternative in Salt Lake County for the Utah Transit Authority (UTA). Transit connections to commuter rail are being studied as part of the EIS in Utah County. Follow the links below for maps detailing transit alternatives and park and ride locations.
Other projects are also underway in the vicinity of the Mountain View Corridor that will complement the MVC. UDOT and the Federal Highway Administration are preparing an EIS on the I-15 Corridor from Utah County to Salt Lake County. UTA is preparing an Environmental Study Report (ESR) for its Provo to Salt Lake FrontRunner commuter rail line. A wide variety of transportation solutions have been analyzed, with more than 300 transportation concepts being narrowed to two roadway alternatives and commuter rail. For more information on Commuter Rail, click here. In addition, UTA is also working on the Mid-Jordan, West Valley and Airport Light Rail lines, which will extend TRAX to the west side of the valley.
