Salt Lake County Project Summary
Initial construction of MVC in Salt Lake County builds two lanes in each direction from 5400 South to Redwood Road (at approximately 16000 South). The initial 15-mile segment will include signalized intersections where MVC crosses local roads and will preserve the land in the middle for future expansion. Initial construction in Salt Lake County began in summer 2010 and will be complete by the end of 2012.
Construction Team
UDOT selected the Copper Hills Constructors team, made up of Granite, Kiewit and W.W. Clyde construction companies, to complete design and construction of the initial phase.

Frontage Road Phasing Plan
Frontage roads will be built from Porter Rockwell Boulevard to Old Bingham Highway. The land in the middle will be preserved for construction of additional lanes during subsequent phases. Intersections will be converted to interchanges.
Outside Lanes Phasing Plan
During initial construction, two outside lanes will be built in each direction from Old Bingham Highway to 5400 South. During future phases, additional lanes will be built to the inside and signalized intersections will be converted to grade separated interchanges.
