Welcome to Payson Bridges

UDOT is replacing three sets of bridge decks along I-15 in Payson: Main Street, 400 North and Utah Avenue. Over the years, UDOT has applied various treatments to the bridges but now the bridge decks need to be replaced.

This project is one of several in Utah to use funds from the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act passed in February 2009. With this funding, UDOT is able to complete this project a year earlier than anticipated.

This construction project will:

  • Replace the I-15 bridge decks at Main Street, 400 North and Utah Avenue
  • Widen the I-15 southbound off-ramp at main Street to accommodate two left turns
  • Span 1.5 miles from Main Street to Utah Avenue

Construction Schedule

Construction will take place from June through late fall 2009. Travelers should expect northbound and southbound lane restrictions on I-15 in Payson as well as some closures of Main Street, 400 North and Utah Avenue while crews replace the bridge decks. The closures will occur mostly at night and possibly during some weekends. The schedule will be as follows and is subject to change:

  • Construction Start - July 2009
  • Main Street off-ramp widening complete -
    August 2009
  • Northbound bridge deck replacements complete - September 2009
  • Southbound bridge deck replacements complete - November 2009

Your comments, questions or concerns are important. To make this project successful we want to hear from you.
