Final EISThe project team has published the Final EIS, which is available for review on the Final EIS page of this site (click here). The FEIS identified Alternative C1: Braided Ramps as the Preferred Alternative. Alternative C1 would provide a connection between the existing Payson Main Street interchange and a new interchange approximately 0.7 miles to the northeast which would connect to a new arterial road (Nebo Beltway). Braided ramps (i.e., ramps that cross over each other) would provide a free-flow connection between the two interchanges. Main Street would be widened to five lanes at the interchange and taper to its current configuration south of 600 North. Main Street would also be realigned to connect to 900 North.
Next StepsAfter the 30-day comment period, UDOT will consider and respond to all written comments received from members of the public and regulatory agencies. UDOT will then prepare a Record of Decision, which is final step in the EIS process. A Record of Decision is expected in mid-2019.
Identify and gather public input regarding items to consider in the environmental study.
Mid 2015 to Summer 2017
Screen alternatives based on their potential impacts and how they meet the purpose and need statement; gather public input on the alternatives and the analysis metrics.
Report findings and present Locally Preferred Alternative.
Members of the public invited to provide comments on the DEIS, review the document, and have questions answered by the project team.
This period extends a minimum of 45 days after the release of the DEIS, providing members of the public the opportunity to submit comments in response to the DEIS via mail, email, or other means.
The final EIS includes responses to all comments received for the DEIS, including feedback from agencies, key stakeholders, and the public. There will be public comment period following the publication of the final EIS.
The Record of Decision is UDOTs final decision regarding the project. It also identifies mitigation requirements and other commitments.
