I-80 Pavement Maintenance; 1300 East to Foothill Drive
The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) will perform maintenance work on I-80 from 1300 East to Foothill Drive. Construction is scheduled to begin as early as May 30 and will last through November. This project will prolong the life of the roadway and provide a smoother ride for drivers.
1300 East to I-80/I-215 Split
UDOT will resurface the shoulders on I-80 in both directions from 1300 East to the I-80/I-215 split. Crews will also make repairs to concrete panels in the travel lanes.
I-80/I-215 Split to End of Concrete (west of Foothill Drive)
From the I-80/I-215 split to west of Foothill Drive, I-80 and I-215 will be resurfaced in both directions. To accomplish this work, crews will close each leg of the interstate over four different weekends beginning as early as June 10.
WHAT TO EXPECT
All lanes will be open during daytime hours Monday through Friday. During overnight hours and on weekends, lane closures will be in place and drivers should expect moderate delays.
Motorists should also expect intermittent ramp closures during construction.
Nearby businesses and residents will notice noise, dust or vibration during overnight hours, especially while construction is taking place from the I-80/I-215 split to Foothill Drive.
