Reconstruction Project: I-80 Silver Creek to Wanship (MP 148 – 155)
UDOT will reconstruct I-80 between Silver Creek junction and Wanship. The project will take place over a period of two years. Crews reconstructed eastbound lanes in 2014 and will construct westbound lanes in 2015. Traffic will be shifted to the opposite side of the road during construction, creating one lane of travel in each direction. Drivers should plan ahead for delays and use alternate routes as necessary. This project will prolong the life of the roadway and enhance safety for the traveling public.
Trucking restrictions are in place between Silver Creek and Coalville (MP 146-162). Beginning April 6, 2015 eastbound I-80 will be reduced to one lane while crews place concrete barrier. All eastbound loads more than 12 feet wide, 80 feet long or weighing more than 80,000 pounds will be prohibited and will need to use I-84 as a detour. In mid-April 2015, westbound traffic will be shifted to the eastbound lands. All eastbound and westbound loads more than 12 feet wide, 80 feet long or weighing more than 80,000 pounds will be prohibited and will need to use I-84 as a detour.
On- and off-ramps at Exit 150 (Tollgate/Promontory) are now open to all drivers. I-80 will remain at one lane in each direction through mid-October as crews complete the project.
