The three-lane project will include:
- One lane in each direction from Antelope Drive (1700 South in Syracuse) to 1900 West in West Haven
- A center turn lane along the length of the corridor (in some areas, a center turn lane already exists)
- Adding right-turn lanes where appropriate
- Resurfacing the roadway

THREE-LANE PLAN & RIGHT-OF-WAY IMPACTS
Most of the work on the three-lane project can be done within the existing right-of-way, but some small strips of property may be required to complete the project.
Since available funding would be put toward transportation improvements, UDOT does not plan to purchase large property parcels (i.e., homes or businesses) for the three-lane project. Also, sidewalks, curb, gutter and bike lanes are not part of this plan.
When funding eventually becomes available, UDOT will purchase right-of-way for the five-lane selected alternative identified in the Final Environmental Impact Statement. Right now, UDOT is uncertain when this might occur.
UDOT's goal is to start construction in July 2009, and complete the entire three-lane project by fall 2009. The project team is working hard to make this happen, but the schedule is very tight, so there is a chance that some work may not be completed until 2010.
