Summary Project Update: 11/18/09
Traffic will switch over to the north side of Antelope Drive in the early morning on Saturday. (See details below)
Early Sunday morning crews will begin removing asphalt on the north side. (See details below)
Detailed Construction Update:
South Side of 1700 South:
- Traffic should all be switched over to the south side of the road by 8 a.m. this Saturday.
- At the intersection of 1000 West, traffic will be split, with the westbound traffic on the north side and eastbound travelling on the south.
- Final work on the sidewalk, curb and gutter continues this week along the south side.
- School pedestrian routes will be adjusted to provide safe access for the children. The project team will coordinate directly with the schools and law enforcement.
North Side of 1700 South:
- When the traffic between 2000 West and 1000 West is moved to the south side next week, work to remove the asphalt on the north side will begin Sunday morning and will continue into next week. As asphalt is removed, temporary driveways will be built for residents and businesses.
- These temporary driveways will be maintained by the contractor throughout the winter months, including snow removal.
- Work on the north side this winter will include replacing secondary and culinary water lines and sewer laterals.
1000 W. Intersection:
- The permanent access between Jiffy Lube and Arctic Circle is now complete and has been reopened. Thank you for your patience during that work.
- Southwest quadrant of this intersection is scheduled to be paved in the first week of December.
Heritage Lane:
- Heritage Lane remains closed for concrete cure time and storm drain work. It is scheduled to be reopened in early December.
- In order to access any of the businesses or homes on Heritage Lane, motorists should use the entrance at 2000 W. near the city offices.
2000 W. Intersection:
- Crews are working today and tomorrow to install storm drain in front of the businesses.
- Concrete paving activities are scheduled in the area of Maverik, Wells Fargo and Don’s Meats late this week and again next week. Weather permitting; this area should be reopened by mid-December.
- Southwest quadrant of this intersection is scheduled to be paved in early December.
