UDOT to close 9800 South at Bangerter Highway in South Jordan
December 20, 2024
Crews will halt east-west travel to convert intersection into interchange
The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) will close east and westbound travel at 9800 South and Bangerter Highway in South Jordan this weekend.
Lane shifts and closures will begin at 10 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20, and last for 10 months as crews update the intersection into an interchange. During this time, east and westbound traffic on 9800 South will not be able to travel straight through the intersection but can turn right on or off Bangerter Highway.
This is one of the last intersections of the Bangerter South projects to be converted into a freeway-style interchange. Others under construction include 2700 West, 13400 South and 4700 South. All projects are anticipated to be complete by November 2025.
Construction schedules are weather-dependent and subject to change. For the latest information on traffic restrictions during construction, visit the UDOT Traffic website (udottraffic.utah.gov) or download the UDOT Traffic app for iPhone or Android. Drivers can also follow UDOT on social media including Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
