The US-91 and 10th West Intersection Project is about to start. UDOT will be placing a traffic signal at the intersection of 1000 West, and US-89/91. This work will include creating a four-way intersection, closing 1200 West on the south side of the highway, and widened US-89/91 to accommodate a new turn lane. A private developer will be completing the southeast portion of the intersection at a future time.
The intent of this project is to improve safety for those turning left onto SR 252 (1000 West) as well as help traffic flow in this area.
During this project, all work will be done within the existing right of way. UDOT has purchased some property complete this project.
Preliminary work to clear structures from the right of way and to remove topsoil along the shoulders is expected to begin May 14, 2018. Staker Parson Construction Company has been selected as the contractor to perform the work.
The majority of this work will be taking place at night, typically from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. Crew will be working primarily Sunday night through Friday morning. Occasional day work will also take place. This project is expected to be completed end of August 2018.
