In early April, 2018, the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) began construction to remove and reconstruct the driving surface of 14 bridges on Interstate 70 between Cove Fort and Sevier, Utah (mileposts 7-21). The project is using hydro-demolition, an innovative technique that removes the top several inches from the surface of the bridge deck while leaving the bridge structure in place. This cost-effective treatment will extend the life of the existing bridge structures while providing an improved driving surface.
Project construction ran from April to October, 2018 and resumed in 2019.
