The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) is preparing an Environmental Assessment (EA) to evaluate existing and long-term transportation needs and potential solutions on 5600 South between 3500 west and I-15, in Roy, UT. Potential improvements could include increasing roadway capacity along 5600 South, reconfiguring the I-15 interchange, and grade separating the D&RG Trail—a north-south multi-use trail—at 5600 South.
UDOT conducted formal scoping phase from August 22 to September 21, 2018. During this phase, the project team held a public scoping meeting and accepted formal public comments. Materials presented at the meeting and information about the comment period are available on the Scoping tab.
UDOT is still in the process of completing their EA, so no decisions have been made to date on which alignment would be selected or which homes would be impacted from the proposed project.
We are anticipating the EA to be published in fall of 2019. A right-of-way workshop will be held for affected property owners prior to the broader public hearing planned shortly after release of the EA.
