Rehabilitation High Volume HSIP - Highway Safety Improvement
PROJECT OVERVIEW
Starting April 12th, UDOT will begin construction on S.R. 12 near Bryce Canyon National Park. The project will extend the life of the roadway and enhance safety by rehabilitating the pavement and constructing a roundabout.

S.R. 12 / S.R. 63 ROUNDABOUT CONSTRUCTION IMPACTS
Beginning April 12th, traffic controls will be in-place with appropriate signage, flaggers and rumble strips to alert approaching drivers. Contractors will maintain access to nearby business See image below demonstrating what drivers can expect.
UPCOMING WORK:
+ Traffic control equipment setup to guide traffic into roundabout construction zone
+ Existing light poles, guard rails and utility boxes will be removed
+ Clearing and grubbing of vegetation, topsoil
+ Roto-milling of existing asphalt (areas in red above)
BRYCE CANYON TO HENRIEVILLE REPAVEMENT CONSTRUCTION IMPACTS
By late April, simultaneous work will begin repaving from the intersection of S.R. 12 and S.R. 63 and continue along S.R. 12 to the city of Henrieville. Drivers can expect single-lane closures with alternating one-way traffic and delays up to 15 minutes in this area. For those traveling between Capitol Reef and Bryce Canyon, plan extra travel time due to other surface transportation projects nearby as well.
