The Utah Department of Transportation will be improving a section of U.S. 189 from the mouth of Provo Canyon to Mount Timpanogos Park. This project is part of UDOT's efforts to preserve and extend the life of the roadway.
Within the project limits expect to encounter only one lane of travel in each direction at night with possible speed reductions posted.
The contractor will maintain access to parks and intersections as much as possible. There will be times when property accesses and side streets will need to be temporarily closed while crews are working directly in front of them.
The access ramps to the canyon may be completely closed one night for crews to work on them. The date for the closure will be advertised on an electronic sign board 3 days in advance of the closure.
