The Utah Department of Transportation, in coordination with Henefer, will conduct a two-phase roadway improvement along I-84 and S.R. 65. The first phase of the project will begin as early as June 29, 2020, and last through September 2020. The second phase is expected to begin June 2021 and last through October 2021. This project is being done to improve aging bridges and pavement and to enhance mobility and safety for residents and commuters.
Phase one work will include asphalt resurfacing and bridge deck repair on I-84 from milepost 112 to 119. Phase two will include rehabilitation of the S.R. 65 bridges over the Weber River and Union Pacific Railroad as well as a replacement of the S.R. 65 bridge over I-84. New cable barrier will also be installed as part of the improvements.
What to Expect on I-84:
- Daytime work, six days a week
- Single lane closures
- Short-term ramp closures at Exit 112 and Exit 115
- 60 mph speed limit
- Narrowed lanes
- Occasional noise, dust or vibration
