This I-80 chain up area project involved two improvements to I-80 and the installation of an overhead sign along US-40. The first project phase included the addition of a deceleration or a right-hand turn lane on the south side of east bound I-80 at the West mouth of the canyon. Next, construction crews paved, expanded, and improved the chain-up area located on the north side of west bound I-80 at the US-40 Interchange. The overhead sign was installed on US-40 just south of the Silver Summit Parkway exit Exit 2.
