Northern Corridor - BLM ROW Application Support

Overview

• This corridor has been identified by local planners as needed to accommodate east-west travel demand between I-15 and SR-18 projected for 2030 and beyond and to reduce congestion on the local area transportation network. 
• The corridor would pass through Bureau of Land Management (BLM) lands pending federal approval of a Final Plan of Development.   
• UDOT submitted a Draft Plan of Development in applying for a Right-of-Way permit from the BLM.  The road alignment proposed in this draft plan was selected as the Preferred Alternative in the BLM’s Federal Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS )Record of Decision (ROD).

Further Information

• UDOT has expended $4.7 million for the Right-of-Way application and associated environmental studies and analyses.  
• No funding has been allocated for a final design or construction.  
• There is no schedule for a project.  
• Relevant documentation submitted to and issued by the BLM can be found on the BLM National NEPA Register.
• The Dixie Metropolitan Planning Organization has a copy of frequently asked planning questions.
