The purpose of this project is facilitating the relocation of the existing Port of Entry along U.S. 6 near Helper, UT to a new site along U.S. 6 near Carbonville to enhance safety of the port. The new port will have facilities and accesses on both sides of U.S. 6. The new site is approximately 7 miles south of the existing Port of Entry and approximately 3.5 miles north of Price, UT. The project will include additional ramp length and storage, a turnabout area, an oversized truck inspection area, a weigh scale, additional parking, and an additional facility that will allow access to eastbound and westbound travel.
Construction Activities* - The Port of Entry buildings and structures are currently under construction are are expected to be operational in Fall 2021. - Working hours will remain during the daytime Monday through Friday. - Crews will be using equipment that will cause noise, vibration, and dust/particulate in the air. *Construction schedules are subject to change due to utility, material, weather or equipment delays.
