UDOT is making immediate improvements and repairs to S.R. 210 in Little Cottonwood Canyon and U.S. 6 in Spanish Fork Canyon in response to mudslides in summer of 2019. These improvements include:
In Little Cottonwood Canyon (S.R. 210):
- Remove large amounts of debris, rocks and mud
- Repair slopes
- Re-establish ditches
- Replace damaged or destroyed drainage including pipe culverts and ditches
- Install three 60 inch concrete pipe culverts, including headwalls, concrete aprons, and trash racks
- Clean and reconstruct drainage boxes
- Restore water flow through all pipe culverts
- Repair and/or replace roadway features such as signing and guardrail
