The Utah Department of Transportation, in conjunction with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), conducted an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) study on 1800 North in the Clinton and Sunset communities of Davis County.
The EIS identified current and future transportation needs in the study area and considered the need for a new interchange with Interstate 15, a railroad overpass, and the widening of 1800 North between Interstate 15 and 2000 West.
The study, considered alternatives to improving 1800 North and weigh environmental impacts to include the following:

- Social and Community Setting
- Traffic Noise
- Community Economics
- Air Quality
