Region One

Road closures:

  • US-89 South Weber Weekend closure: Southbound: Starting Friday, April 26 at 1:00 pm to Monday, April 29 at 7:00 am. All US-89 SB traffic should detour to I-15 South from Riverdale. Hard closure at South Weber Drive, Business/local traffic only. Through traffic will be detoured back to Riverdale on I-84 West.
  • US-89 South Weber Weekend closure: Northbound: Starting Friday, May 3 at 8:00 pm to Monday, May 6 at 1:00 pm. All US-89 SB traffic should detour to I-15 North. Hard closure at SR-1963. South Weber residents/business access via EB I-84 from Riverdale.
  • 5600 S: Left Hand turns at Freeway Park Dr to HAFB (Wardleigh Rd) and from 5600 S to Freeway Park Dr., starting Sept. 29 through Fall 2024
  • Freeway Park Dr: A section of the southbound lane along Freeway Park Dr. will close as early as Monday, March 18 through Monday April 10 to accommodate a waterline installation. Business access will be maintained. Drivers use alternate routes.
  • Crews will suspend the left lane on southbound I-15 from Riverdale Road to the Roy exit (Exit 338) beginning as early as Friday, April 5 at 7 p.m. through 5 a.m. Monday, April 8 to excavate the median, place temp asphalt, restripe and set barrier. Drivers can expect lane shifts and short-term delays.
  • I-15 NB and Riverdale Rd Exit: Beginning Sept. 29, crews will close the existing I-15 NB on-ramp. The current I-15 NB off-ramp will shift. Drivers will travel the new Collector Distributor (CD) to access I-15 NB, Riverdale Rd, and Freeway Park Dr. Effective through Summer 2024

Region One covers the northern part of the state, including the following counties: Box Elder, Cache, Davis, Morgan, Rich and Weber.

Our responsibility is to construct and maintain state roadways in the safest, most efficient manner possible.


Approximately 235 full-time employees work for Region One. We manage 942 center-line miles and 2655 lane miles of state roadway. Region One includes two national forests, one national historic site, seven state parks and three state highways designated “Scenic Byways.”
